Motivation
“The journalist, feminist and anti-racist Alexandra Pascalidou has been a clear voice in the Swedish public since 1995 when she stepped into the limelight as the host of the Swedish National TV-show Mosaik. Alongside hosting ,Pascalidou has since then acted as a moderator, author, columnist and reporter in diverse genres such as sports, culture, entertainment, economy, society and debate programs.
She is now entering the theatre stage as a playwright and actress in “Alexandra’s Odyssey”, based on her acclaimed book “Chaos – A Greek Crisis Lexicon” at the Gothenburg National Theatre. Few, if any Swedish journalists, has exhibited this professional width and diversity.
Alexandra Pascalidou with the acclaimed SVT production “They call us beggars,” which aired in 2016, proved that no questions are too difficult to ask if people are treated with respect and dignity.
Thus, we believe that Pascalidou also answered the recurring question of who can speak about what in public. With equality as a starting point, all journalism becomes better. Alexandra Pascalidou has contributed greatly to this through all of her work.”
